Layer Cake Quilt Along Blocks #1 and #2
I am finally sewing again! Caught up on my Layer Cake Quilt Along and am going to cut my Meadowsweet 2 fabric to make a quilt for our newly remodeled guest bedroom. It is so nice- I may have to remodel our master bedroom!
I have been collecting red/white/blue fabrics and am using these instead of an actual Layer Cake. It is not too late to join! Just "click" on their blog button on my side bar. Happy Sewing!!!

Scrapbook Workshop Layouts
Close to My Heart came out with an awesome new "how to" book. It has many ideas for "inter-active" scrapbook layouts. I wanted to use some of the recipes for our next workshop but it was so hard to pick just two! We will have to do more in the coming months. The book is call "Magic" and can be ordered on my website at http://tammywisterman.myctmh.com
I hope you can see the "inter-activeness" from my pictures! The "I Heart Fall" layout is right out of the Magic book! Different paper but same idea. Totally "scrap-lifted"! I used CTMH Flip Flaps on the "Merry Christmas 2010" layout. I love how you can add so many pictures to one layout!

A Goodbye, Good Luck and Happy for You Card
Another of my friends is moving onto a new job and abandoning me! HA! (a little dramatic huh?) I will miss Angela so much! And as with Melissa leaving....I just cant say goodbye! So...I used "So happy for you"...major denial huh? I do know that it wont be as easy to visit her but thank goodness for texting with our iphones!!! I do wish you the best Angela!!!
I used all CTMH products and of course I am hooked on their Irresistables! You just sponge ink on the chipboard and like magic the embossed pattern shines through. Hooked I say! (you will see more in my next posts)

Journals...
Happy Wednesday! I made my samples for our upcoming Craft Day at church. We are having a day for the ladies at our church to make crafts for the holidays...cards, ornaments, knitting and I thought journals would be a great gift for the holidays.
Are you making Christmas gifts? If so what are you working on?

Wishing You Well...
What do you say when a sweet co-worker leaves? I can't say good bye because ...well I don't want to say good bye! Good Luck sounds so final too...so I chose Wishing You Well. I will miss you Melissa and do Wish You Well at your new job! Just so you know...it isn't good bye!

Layer Cake Quilt Along 2010
Time to get ready...the Layer Cake Quilt Along 2010 starts on November 2nd!
I participated in the Jelly Roll Quilt Along and had so much fun. Every two weeks Moose on the Porch posts a block with instructions. After twelve blocks you have a quilt top! The directions are wonderful for beginners too. When finished with your block each time, you load it on Flicker and you may win a prize! Oh and you dont have a layer cake? You can use fat quarters...that is what I am using!
Click on the link above or the adorable blog button on my sidebar! Can't wait to see your work on Flicker!

Beautiful Weekend!
I took an extra day off this weekend to get caught up, relax and to craft a bit. We went fishing on Saturday at Fuller Lake and then took a little hike at Emerald Pools...it had such beautiful, clear, emerald water...there is so much beauty in our own backyards! We just need to take the time to visit! As far as crafting goes...I finished my "scrappy quilt". It is totally made with my left over scraps and I felt so resourceful to be able to use my scraps to make something so beautiful!
Tonight is game 4 for the Giants....please give us a win! This has been an exciting series and to bring home a win tonight would be BEAUTIFUL!

One of the blogs I follow is doing a card drive in honor of her mother's birthday. So many companies and individuals have donated Blog Candy to a random winner who participates in this card drive. It is a win-win to be able to touch someones life when they know someone is thinking of them! Check out Cammie's blog to see how you can participate.

The Best Gift of All
Close to My Heart has a new sentiment stamp set for Christmas in the new Fall/Winter catalog. I love this saying because I think it sums up one of my favorite moments at Christmas time..."Being together is the Best Gift of All". I look forward to our family being together. :o)
We will be making this card at our next workshop. It has ribbon that reminds me of ribbon candy at Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
Time to put down my fabric and start preparing for Christmas! (although I did save some binding to hand sew while I watch Greys tonight!)
This card will be one of cards being made at my Christmas card workshop next month. I love the Dimensional Elements Snowflakes from CTMH with Prism Glitter! I also used the new paper packet Mistletoe and the new Sparkles. Love the many new colors that Sparkles come in! Shades of blues/greens and reds/purples. Check out the new Close to My Heart catalog by "clicking" on the shopping cart.

Whew!
It's been a crazy busy two weeks! This is the quilt I have been working on and even though I have gotten a little attached to it...it is ready to mail! It is for my son's girlfriend Ashlie. I hope she will enjoy cuddling up with it!
This is the first time I used 505 Spray to "sandwich" the fabric and batting together. I highly recommend it! No pinning or basting and it worked like a dream. It is also the first time I used masking tape to create a guide to quilt the lines on the quilt. I usually try my hand at free motion quilting. I loved this technique too!

Flashback Friday Challenge!
Then...
This Flashback Layout was made around 2000....when my boys were way into their teenage years and I was wondering where my sweet boys went! I found their pictures and started creating albums of the days when they still liked me! Great therapy! Thank goodness those years do not last forever!
Now...
My friend shared this on her blog and boy what a challenge. We were to post one of our first scrapbook pages and then a current page. What can I say..."We have come a long way baby!"

I am slightly embarrassed by my first layouts, in fact when my son was showing his girlfriend this album my husband said to me "You really need to update this!" What do you think?

Vacation!
Santa Barbara Coastline
Santa Barbara Bay
Hubby on his bike
My son Brian and me
Thought I would share some shots of our coastal vacation...yes I am still dreaming of it! We had a blast, but like all vacations....wish we were still there! We brought our bikes so we could ride on the coastal bike trails. I highly recommend it!
We started in Santa Barbara, then Solvang, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles where my son lives. We went wine tasting while we were there and it was beautiful! We also hit three California Missions. I love the architecture and also it gives me an excuse to visit the coast more as I am trying to check off each one that I have visited.
Thanks for visiting my blog!

Disneyland Mini Album
I have been working like a crazy women trying to get this finished for my son before we head down to visit him next week. He is such a sweet boy....(man now) and so sentimental. Loves my scrap booking and sends me items to scrap for him! This Disneyland trip was so fun...it had been years since I had been and we had a blast!
I used CTMH's buttons, sparkles, My Creations 3 Ring Binder, Cranberry, Black and Sunflower card stock, Ticket to Ride and Thrill Ride stamp sets.
Also, this is my take from a super talented CTMH consultant Tresa Black. She did tutorials showing in detail how to create a My Creations 3 Ring Binder. Check out her blog, it is amazing!
