Good Eats!

Here is the recipe box we will be making at our workshop on August 15th. It has adorable recipe cards from Close to My Heart. The set comes with stickers that I used for the "Good Eats" label. I love their new little boxes that you can use for storing any little treasure, cards and of course recipes! I used acrylic paint to color the edges. You can have your choice of colors for the edges, stickers for the label and I have a couple of chipboard features that you can "make it your own".
If you are not already signed up, you have until July 31st.
Hope to see you there!

Circle Card...

I made this card for a sweet friend that has ovarian cancer. She is very young with 3 small children. I hope it brightens her day and she knows that there is hope as many people have her in their prayers.

Lake Tahoe!

We were in Tahoe City for a Mountain Bike Challenge. Our pastor sponsors this fund raiser each year and we had a wonderful time! My husband brought home a bronze medal for being his first time and also a trophy for "Outstanding New Rider"! He was so excited and now thinks he may have to build a trophy room! ha!
It was so hard to come home, especially since the weather was in the high 70's and home was in the 100's! Whew!

ps...check out those flowers...they were breath taking! also hope to have some projects to show soon!

Fresh Tomato Pie!

My first tomatoes are here! I wanted to pass on this recipe that my friend Debby shared with me. I changed it up a bit, as I LOVE pesto!

Fresh Tomato Pie
1-9 inch unbaked pie crust

1 1/2 C shredded mozzarella, divided

3 to 4 tomatoes, thinly sliced (heirlooms are the boom!)

1/3 C thinly sliced Vidalia onion

1/3 C mayonnaise mixed with 1-2 tbs pesto

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

Preheat oven to 400*. Bake crust for 10-12 minutes, until golden. Cool on wire rack. Reduce oven to 350*. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella on bottom of cooled pie crust. Top with tomato slices and arrange onion slices evenly over tomatoes.

Combine pesto mixture with remaining mozzarella, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Mix well and spoon over tomatoes and onions.

Bake 40-45 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Serves 8

Material Girl Scallop Card

I just love 3 day weekends! It usually means I get one day to craft. Yippee! The man is off biking and so I have the house to myself...and my craft mess!

I made this card using the Cricut "Wild Card" cartridge, which I ran across and absolutely love! I also used my favorite Cosmo Cricket "Material Girl" collection. I feel like I must replenish my supply so that I won't ever be without...can you say sickness! I always love their collections and have to trust they will create more collections that I will adore (hoard) just as much!
Have a wonderful day off if you are one of the lucky ones!

Disneyland Workshop Layouts

These are the layouts we made at our workshop last Sunday. It was fun scrapping some of my pictures from last years trip although....there are lots more to scrap! I have some final touches to finish, like some journaling but wanted to share what I have been working on. (one of the many projects!)
tip: my cricut cartridge cuts perfect mickey mouse ears...found that out after I did my sample layout...the gals got the perfect ears for their projects though!
Have a wonderful 4th of July!!!
